We’ve grown a great since then, but bringing you delicious tasing products is what my daughter and I remain  passionate about. Recipe :

Here’s a recipe inspired by Mrs. Darlington’s Real Ale Chutney:

Ingredients:
– 2 large onions, finely chopped
– 2 apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
– 1/2 cup raisins or sultanas
– 1/2 cup dried apricots, chopped
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon ground ginger
– 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1 cup apple cider vinegar
– 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

– 1 cup real ale or dark beer
– Salt to taste

Instructions:
1. In a large saucepan, combine the chopped onions, apples, raisins or sultanas, dried apricots, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, real ale or dark beer, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves.

2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the chutney, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and the liquid reduces, about 45-60 minutes.

4. Season the chutney with salt to taste.

5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the chutney cool to room temperature.

6. Transfer the cooled chutney to sterilized jars, making sure to leave some headspace at the top.

7. Seal the jars tightly and store them in the refrigerator.

This Real Ale Chutney is a delicious accompaniment to cheese platters, cold cuts, sandwiches, and savoury pies. Enjoy the rich flavours and savoury-sweet taste of this homemade chutney!
