🍊 Fresh Sweet Juicy Pomelo – Sweet, Juicy & Refreshing

Our Fresh Juicy Pomelo is a wonderfully refreshing citrus fruit with large, juicy segments and a naturally sweet flavour balanced by a gentle citrus tang.

Pomelo is one of the largest citrus fruits in the world. Although it’s often compared with grapefruit, its flavour is generally milder, sweeter and less bitter, making it a fantastic choice for anyone who enjoys fresh citrus.

Beneath its thick green-to-yellow skin and generous layer of white pith are firm, succulent segments bursting with refreshing flavour.

Enjoy Pomelo chilled on its own, add it to colourful fruit salads and breakfast bowls, or combine it with avocado, cucumber, chilli and fresh herbs for something savoury.

Big fruit. Juicy segments. Beautifully refreshing citrus flavour. 🍊✨

🍊 About Fresh sweet Juicy Pomelo

Fresh Pomelo Fruit is a large member of the citrus family with thick skin, substantial white pith and juicy flesh divided into individual segments.

The fruit can vary naturally in size, skin colour and flesh colour depending on the particular variety.

Unlike an orange, Pomelo has a relatively thick membrane surrounding each segment. This is normally removed before eating, leaving behind the juicy citrus flesh.

Pomelo is perfect for:

🍊 Eating fresh
🥗 Fruit salads
🥣 Breakfast bowls
🥑 Avocado salads
🌿 Asian-inspired dishes
🍹 Refreshing drinks
🦐 Prawn salads
🌶️ Chilli & citrus dishes
🧺 Sharing platters

💫 Sweet, Mild & Citrusy

Sweet 🍯 | Juicy 💧 | Citrusy 🍊 | Gently Tangy 🍋 | Refreshing ✨

Pomelo has a clean, refreshing citrus flavour that’s often compared with grapefruit.

However, ripe Pomelo is generally milder and less bitter, with plenty of juicy sweetness.

It pairs beautifully with:

🥑 Avocado
🥭 Mango
🥝 Kiwi
🍍 Pineapple
🥒 Cucumber
🌿 Mint
🌿 Coriander
🍋 Lime
🌶️ Chilli
🦐 Prawns

🔪 Preparing Fresh Sweet Juicy Pomelo

Preparing Fresh Pomelo Fruit takes a little longer than peeling an orange because of its thick skin and pith, but it’s very straightforward.

  1. Wash the outside of the fruit.
  2. Slice a small section from the top and bottom.
  3. Carefully score the thick skin vertically in several places.
  4. Peel away the outer skin.
  5. Remove as much of the thick white pith as possible.
  6. Separate the fruit into individual segments.
  7. Peel away the tougher membrane surrounding each segment.
  8. Remove any seeds.
  9. Break the juicy flesh into pieces and enjoy.

🍊 Fruit Bowl Tip

Don’t be put off by the amount of skin and pith!

Once the membrane is removed from each segment, you’re left with beautiful pieces of sweet, juicy citrus flesh.

Try chilling the prepared pieces before serving for an extra-refreshing bite.

❓ Fresh Sweet Juicy Pomelo QA

What does Fresh Pomelo Fruit taste like?

Pomelo has a sweet, refreshing citrus flavour with gentle tanginess. It’s often compared with grapefruit but is generally milder and less bitter.

Is Pomelo the same as grapefruit?

No. They’re related citrus fruits, but Pomelo is a different fruit. It’s generally larger and has considerably thicker skin and pith.

How do you eat Pomelo?

Remove the thick outer skin and white pith, separate the segments and peel away the tougher membrane before eating the juicy flesh.

Can Pomelo be eaten raw?

Yes. It’s delicious raw and particularly refreshing served chilled.

Can I add Pomelo to fruit salad?

Absolutely. It pairs particularly well with mango, kiwi, pineapple, berries and other citrus fruits.

What savoury ingredients go well with Pomelo?

Avocado, cucumber, chilli, lime, coriander, mint and prawns all work particularly well.

Does Pomelo need to be refrigerated?

A whole Pomelo can be kept somewhere cool before cutting. Once peeled or cut, refrigerate it in a suitable covered container.

Can Pomelo be frozen?

Yes, although freezing changes its texture. Frozen Pomelo is therefore more useful for blended drinks than for eating as fresh segments.
