A super easy way to use chives that adds big flavour to toast, veggies, potatoes, or grilled meats!

Ingredients:

  • 100g (about 1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened

  • 2–3 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped

  • 1 garlic clove, minced (optional for extra flavour)

  • Salt to taste (about 1/4 tsp)

  • Optional: a pinch of black pepper or lemon zest

Instructions:

  1. Soften the butter until it’s easily spreadable (leave it at room temp for 15–20 mins).

  2. Mix the butter with chopped chives, garlic, salt, and any optional add-ins.

  3. Spoon onto parchment paper or plastic wrap, shape into a log, and roll it up.

  4. Chill in the fridge until firm (about 1 hour).

  5. Slice and serve on warm bread, roasted veg, steak, baked potatoes — anything!
